Staff Appreciation Celebration

As part of our Staff Appreciation Celebration, staff were invited to reflect on their colleagues and share moments of gratitude and celebration from the school year. Their thoughtful responses highlight the incredible dedication, teamwork, and care that make our school community so special. A slideshow was created to showcase these reflections and we encourage you to take a peek.

Celebrations Around Our Schools

St. Helena Primary School Celebrations

St. Helena Primary School had a wonderful time during the Lucky Diaz events on May 6! Students enjoyed an engaging afternoon assembly, and it was great to see so many families come together later that evening at Lyman Park for the community concert.

A special thank you to our dedicated DELAC parents for preparing and selling delicious mole plates for families to enjoy. Wild Plum Books also joined the celebration with a collection of Lucky Diaz books that nearly sold out during the event.

The evening was filled with music, connection, and community spirit, and many families shared how much they appreciated the opportunity to gather together and hope to see more events like this in the future.

St.Helena Elementary School Celebrations

The SHES Makers Market was an incredible success and a wonderful celebration of student creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship! It was also a fantastic community event that brought together students, families, staff, and community members in support of our young makers. Our students amazed us with their hard work and imagination as they designed and sold their own unique products. From handmade crafts and artwork to treats and creative inventions, the talent and excitement on display were truly inspiring.

Beyond the fun and excitement of the event, students had the opportunity to practice important real-world skills, including communication, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. The event also highlighted the spirit of generosity, as students donated 20% of their earnings to Give Big in support of our school community.

Thank you to all of the families, staff, and community members who came out to support our young makers. We are so proud of our students and all they accomplished through this meaningful experience!

RLS Middle School Celebration

The RLS Talent Show was an absolute hit! Students wowed the audience with an incredible variety of performances, showcasing their creativity, confidence, and talents. From music and dance to comedy and unique acts, the event highlighted the many gifts and personalities of our students.

The evening was filled with excitement, school spirit, and strong community support as families, staff, and students came together to celebrate the hard work and courage of every performer. Thank you to everyone who helped make this memorable event such a success!

St. Helena High School Celebrations

St. Helena High School proudly hosted the SHUSD Spring Band Concert on May 20 at the Performing Arts Center, featuring talented musicians from across the district. Performances included the RLS 6th Grade Band, RLS 7th/8th Grade Band, SHHS Concert Band, and SHHS Jazz Band.

The evening showcased the dedication, growth, and musical talent of our student performers while highlighting the strength of SHUSD’s music program from middle school through high school. Families, staff, and community members enjoyed a wonderful night of music and student achievement.

A special thank you to our music educators and supporters who continue to provide students with meaningful opportunities to grow through the arts.

Saints Sports Highlights

Saints Track & Field closed out an impressive season at the NCS Class A Area Meet at Montgomery High School, where 12 athletes competed against top talent from across the section. The team recorded 10 personal records and had six individual athletes plus the girls’ 4x100 relay place in the top 10. Standout finishes included Sylvie Cooperman (8th, Long Jump), Tatum Smith (9th, 400m), Breanna Pham (10th, 100m), Kendrick Wilmoth (10th, 100m), and Liam White (9th, Pole Vault). Leading the way was Corinna Schlatter, who earned 2nd place in the 3200m and advanced to the NCS Meet of Champions in Dublin with a chance to qualify for the state meet.

Softball and baseball both wrapped up strong regular seasons and earned co-championship titles in NCL 1 play. The softball team finished an outstanding season with another league title, continuing an impressive stretch of success that includes five league championships since 2021. Baseball also secured a co-championship after a competitive season highlighted by strong pitching and timely hitting. Notable performances included Adam Herdell’s first career home run and Julian Earls’ 9-strikeout outing on the mound.

Both teams now move on to the NCS Playoffs, with softball hosting Analy High School and baseball traveling to face Sonoma Academy. Congratulations to all of our Saints athletes on an incredible spring season, and best of luck in postseason play. Go Saints!

RLS Sports Highlights

Congratulations to all RLS track athletes on an outstanding season! The team showed incredible effort, teamwork, and determination throughout the year—and it paid off in a big way. RLS proudly earned all four pennants: 7th grade girls, 7th grade boys, 8th grade girls, and 8th grade boys. What an amazing accomplishment!

A special shoutout to the 8th grade boys 4x400 relay team—Chase, Jaden, Yulian, and Oliver—for breaking the record during the finals meet. It was a fantastic finish to an unforgettable season!

Congratulations as well to the 8th grade girls 4x400 relay team—Delia, Ryan, Cora, and Miranda—for breaking their own record with an impressive time of 4:35. They continue to raise the bar and set a standard that will be hard to beat!

Great job to all athletes and coaches for making this such a fun and successful track season!

SHHS Wellness Fair

A special shout out to UpValley Family Center Education team for organizing a successful Wellness Fair for our students. The event brought together a variety of community partners who shared valuable information about the services and resources available to students and families both at school and within the community.

Through interactive conversations and outreach, students had the opportunity to learn more about mental health supports, wellness services, mentoring programs, and additional resources designed to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you to our community partners for helping create a supportive and resource-rich environment for our students.

SHUSD Celebrates St. Helena’s Sesquicentennial Parade

St. Helena Unified School District was proud to participate in the St. Helena Sesquicentennial Parade celebrating the City of St. Helena’s 150th anniversary. The parade was a wonderful opportunity to honor the community’s rich history while showcasing the strong connections between our schools, families, and local organizations.

A special highlight was the participation of our dedicated DELAC parents, whose enthusiasm, leadership, and school spirit helped make the event especially meaningful. Their involvement reflects the important role families play in supporting student success and strengthening our school community.

We were thankful to our FFA student leaders for also joining us, as well as students from the SHPS and SHES.

Thank you to everyone who represented SHUSD and helped celebrate this historic milestone for St. Helena!

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

UpValley Family Centers recently hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize the many community members who generously give their time and support to students, staff, and schools throughout St. Helena Unified School District. From helping in classrooms and supporting school events, volunteers continue to make a meaningful impact across our district.

SHUSD would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to UpValley Family Centers for leading and coordinating the district’s classroom volunteer program for many years. Their dedication, partnership, and commitment to serving our school community have been invaluable.

Beginning next school year, the district will transition the volunteer program back to SHUSD. Community members interested in volunteering and supporting our schools are encouraged to contact Selene Robledo for more information about opportunities to get involved.
